This picture was taken circa 1945 of the Head Office of Premier Operating and Columbia Pictures of Canada. At the time, Premier had the distribution rights for Columbia Pictures in addition to operating a chain of 50 theatres throughout Ontario. The building on the corner of Church and Carlton, next to Columbia, was the Head Office of Warner Brothers Canada. The 1940's were a roaring time for the Allens, the owners of premier Operating.
